Premier League 2022-23: Liverpool vs Fulham: Predicted lineup, injury news, head-to-head, telecast
The Cottagers will be travelling to Anfield in Gameweek 34 of the Premier League to bring their season back on track
Liverpool have edged past Tottenham in the Premier League Table and have found some wind in their sails recently. Four consecutive wins in the domestic league has moved them upto 5th in the table. A thriller against Tottenham Hotspur in their recent run out ended in a 4-3 victory for The Kops after Diogo Jota netted the winner in the dying seconds of the game to edge past Ryan Mason's Spurs side. Although a top 4 spot is almost out of reach, a UEFA Europa League spot seems guaranteed for the team from Mersey side.
Fulham have had a successful campaign by their standards but their promising season might not have panned out as they expected it to be in the recent weeks. Three losses in their last five fixtures has succumbed them to 10th in the Premier League table. Although a late surge for an European spot might seem legitimate, Marco Silva's men have shipped in a lot of goals lately and a trip to Anfield might not have come at an appropriate time for The Cottagers. Manchester City climbed to the top of the table ahead of Arsenal by defeating Fulham 2-1 away at Craven Cottage in their recent run out in the Premier League.
Kick-Off:
Wednesday, 03-05-2023, 07:00 PM (GMT)
Thursday, 04-05-2023, 12:30 AM (IST)
Liverpool Form (All Competitions): W-W-W-W-D
Fulham Form (All Competitions): L-L-W-W-L
Player to Watch Out
Liverpool: Diogo Jota
His pace and comfort on both sides make him difficult both to predict and defend against. Though his right foot is stronger, he is also effective with his left. When he is close to goal, he can shoot with either, meaning opponents can't simply guide him towards the weaker foot to try to prevent him from shooting making him a constant menace in the box. He has 5 goals and 4 assists in the Premier League this season.
Fulham: Andreas Pereira
Pereira is Fulham’s main attacking outlet, with his quick feet and composure allowing him to skip past challenges and spread the ball. A staple of the 26-year-old’s play is his sweeping switches of play. This allows Mitrovic to pull wide and collect the ball in the area without attracting the attention of the centre-back who will have been briefed to tightly mark him.
Match Facts
Liverpool have scored twice or more in each of the last four occasions in the Premier League.
Fulham have shipped in 45 goals this season, having failed to keep a clean sheet in the last 10 matches.
Injury and Team News
Liverpool are likely to remain unchanged from their clash against Spurs with the only notable miss out being Roberto Firmino. Stefan Bajcetic has also been out since the middle of April with a groin injury. Cody Gakpo is amongst the goals recently as Darwin Nunez is struggling to get some proper game time. Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Harvey Elliott are expected to start in the midfield with Curtis Jones likely to make the bench.
Fulham have a number of injuries in their ranks with Tim Ream suffering from an elbow injury, Willian might not be able to make it to Anfield with a thigh injury. Aleksandar Mitrovic is still unavailable with a red card suspension and will be back on 13th April. Harry Wilson has been deemed ill and is uncertain whether he will be able to make it for this fixture depending on a late fitness test. Carlos Vinicius has proven his worth despite the absence of Mitrovic.
