Host of Premier League clubs interested in signing Sadio Mane
Newcastle United and Chelsea are interested in signing the Bayern Munich forward
This summer, it is anticipated that Sadio Mane will look to leave Bayern Munich since the former Liverpool attacker is thought to have no future under Thomas Tuchel.
Mane is said to be leaving Bayern, with coach Tuchel eager to move the attacker on after disciplinary troubles and displays below the high bar he set at Liverpool. This won't be a simple chore, though; the 31-year-old is allegedly making almost £17 million a year in pay.
With only one year left on his contract, the Senegalese attacker is unlikely to take a pay cut, giving Bayern little alternatives if they want to attract a suitor. This may leave just Premier League teams and a small number of European teams competing to recruit a player.
According to reports, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle are the most likely teams to recruit Sadio Mane, with Bayern Munich eager to transfer the winger after a disastrous first year.
Despite Mauricio Pochettino, the new manager of Chelsea, reportedly showing interest, Sadio Mane has no plans to leave Bayern Munich this summer.
The Senegal star moved from Liverpool to the Bundesliga's top club last summer in a transaction estimated to be worth about £32 million.
Mane has only scored 12 goals in his first season with the club due to his struggles to maintain a first-team berth in Germany.
After Bayern's loss to Manchester City last month, the former Liverpool player got into an altercation with Leroy Sane, for which he was fined two weeks' worth of pay.
This summer, Thomas Tuchel is looking to add to his attacking options, which will put further pressure on Sadio Mane to increase his playing time.
Mane is much admired by Pochettino and matches the mould of the man the Argentine is looking to bring to Chelsea.
Mane was an integral part of Jurgen Klopp's high pressing at Liverpool, and he was designed for the fast-paced, high-intensity game of English football.
Fabrizio Romano, though, asserts that Mane is content in Germany and has no plans to go back to England. The former Southampton star is committed to Bayern and shares their vision for the organisation.
