The English top flight's April boss battle

Five managers have been shortlisted by the Premier League 2022-23 for the Month honour for April.

The nominations for Unai Emery, Pep Guardiola, Roy Hodson, Eddie Howe, and Gary O'Neil are in honor of their teams' successful recent performances.

Emery, the manager of Aston Villa, is a strong favourite to win the award after leading the Villains to five victories and a draw until Sunday's loss at Manchester United.

Manchester City under Guardiola oversees the title fight, and the Catalan's contribution has been acknowledged. City overtook league leaders Arsenal in the Premier League, who are now one point adrift after playing one more game, thanks to five victories in five games.

Here we have ranked the favourites to win Premier League April Manager of the Month Award:

3. Eddie Howe

Since being named and taking home the prize in February and October of 2022, Howe has received the prestigious honour twice for the Magpies. Newcastle's impressive run, which includes the 6-1 victory over Spurs and 4-1 thrashing of Everton, helps him make the cut notwithstanding the team's loss to Aston Villa (3-0).

Newcastle United was in danger of being relegated when Howe took control. He maintained them with some assistance from the new proprietors. They were not predicted to finish in the top four, but they suddenly appear to be favourites to win the Champions League in 2019. Eddie Howe, good job; you're our top dog.

2. Unai Emery

There is a lot of pressure and pride involved in leading a club in a competitive league like the English Premier League. Steven Gerard had Aston Villa fighting for survival when the Englishman was fired and Unai Emery was appointed. Under the Spaniard, Aston Villa appear to be a different organization. If Villa Park keeps winning games to the season's end, Emery will have done miracles there, and they may be eligible to play in the Europa League the following year.

1. Pep Guardiola

Pep has taken home the Premier League MOTM award a record 11 times, outpacing other notable managers in the league's history like Jose Mourinho, Rafael Benitez, David Moyes, Claudio Ranieri, and others.

Pep is the sole head coach in PL history to receive the MOTM accolade four months in a row. During the 2017–18 season, when he won the honor from September 2017 to December 2017, he accomplished this feat. Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool, on the other hand, is the manager in history to get the honor five times in a single campaign.
