Women In Sports is delighted to announce the 2nd edition of the Women In Sports Elite Football Trials, to be held this year at Kolkata from 30th June to 4th July 2023.
Women In Sports, an initiative born out of a collective passion for sports, aims at providing deserved opportunities to talented girls so that they can make a career and excel in sports.
Following last year's successful football coaching clinic, the camp will be held in Kolkata once again, this time at the National Centre of Excellence in New Town.
AMPL is very happy to once again be partnering with Women In Sports to bring to you the Elite Camp 2023. Through its success last year, the support from AMPL could go a long way in impacting many future generations of young female sportspeople. We hope this year is even more successful than the last.
"Women In Sports is very proud to be hosting a second edition of the WINS Elite Trials. We hope this keeps growing. The turn out this year of national players is expected to more than double of the last year. We wish the girls all the best and are thankful to AMPL and all our partners for coming together for this", Sanaya Mehta, Founder, Selvel’s Women In Sports Forum was quoted saying.
An overwhelming response from coaches around the world at last year’s Elite Camp exceeded our expectations, which assured sustenance of our program in the years to come. The coaches trained our Indian girls and 2 of them were scouted from our Elite Trials: Soumya Guguloth and Jyoti Chauhan secured contracts at a top European Club Dinamo Zagreb while Bala Devi and Panthoi Chanu completed a training stint in Spain.
"It’s great to be back for this once again and hope more girls can grasp the opportunities to play abroad and have a life changing experience", said Bala Devi, Ex-Captain of the Indian Women’s Football team who played for Rangers FC in Scotland and returned to India to play for Odisha FC in the IWL.
Head Coaches of the following club’s women’s teams have confirmed their participation in this year’s edition
of the Elite Camp 2023:
Western United Football Club ZNK Dinamo Zagreb
Adelaide United FC Marbella FC
Perth SC
They will be coaching and closely analyzing some of India's best female players over the course of the Elite Trials and will scout the ones who have the promise to make a career abroad.
Peter Rakic Head Coach for Perth SC who play in the National Premier League said “This is a very exciting time for female football and I can’t wait to be a part of something which truly provides recognition from around the globe for women in sport, placing their potential and career progression in our best interests and building a solid pathway between nationals abroad.”
