Bayern Munich youngster Mamin Sanyang set to join Hannover
He scored a goal in the recently concluded FIFA U20 World Cup
Mamin Sanyang, a gifted striker from the Gambia, is expected to join Hannover permanently after leaving Bayern Munich.
With the addition of Mamin Sanyang from Hoffenheim, Bayern Munich have further bolstered their U19 team for the next campaign. A Gambian right-wing-back on the rampage who has now been sent to Hannover on a permanent deal.
In the event that VfB Stuttgart didn't first promote goalkeeper Baboucarr Gaye from their reserves, he made his Bundesliga debut and became the fourth Gambian player to play in the German top division after Werder Bremen's Ousman Manneh (2016–2017), Hamburg's Bakery Jatta (2016–2018), and Augsburg's Dawda Bah (2011–2012).
In February 2003, Sanyang was born in Brikama, a town in the far western part of the Gambia. Sanyang's family fled their country's internal unrest and came to Germany in 2013, when the child was 10 years old. They settled in Baden-Württemberg, close to the Bavarian border.
Sanyang quickly joined the youth programme of the nearby Bundesliga 2 team Heidenheim, and following three successful campaigns there, he transferred to Hoffenheim, where he played regularly in the UEFA Youth League.
Sanyang resembles Kimmich, at least the most current right-back version, more than passingly thanks to his low balance of gravity, a quick turn of speed, and determination when trying to regain control.
He also has some of the German star's passing ability, being able to play the easy ball or thread it through a needle to break down defences and put his team on the attack. This is how he managed four assists for Hoffenheim this season.
