The league was founded in 2018

The CONCACAF Nations League came into existence in 2018 and the inaugural competition took place in 2019. This league involves member associations of CONCACAF (Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football).

This is a league that is divided into three tiers, A, B, and C. There are four groups each in these leagues. This is a promotion and relegation-based system. The teams in League A are set to become the CONCACAF Nations League winners.

There are 16 teams in League A and are divided into four groups. The winner of each group qualifies for the knockout stage and plays in the semifinals. As for the relegation, the last team in each group of League A and B gets relegated. The winners of Group B and C get a promotion.

Since the start of the Nations League, it has been played two times. The USA have been the most dominant team and registered back-to-back titles.

The 2021 CONCACAF Nations League final was played between the USA and Mexico. Matches between these two teams have been highly competitive and this one also produced a lot of drama. This match was played in Denver, USA.

The home team came back twice in the first 90 minutes and the score was 2-2 before it went into extra time. Christian Pulisic's penalty in the extra time earned his side a win in the first-ever final.

This win was followed by a dominating 2-0 win against Canada in the recently concluded 2023 CONCACAF Nations League final.

Canada defeated Panama 2-0 and reached the finals. The USA won their match 3-0 against Mexico. In the final, Chris Richards and Folarin Balogun scored a goal each in the first half and sealed yet another title.
