How many FA Cup titles have Manchester City won in their history?

The Cityzens have dominated the English Cup competitions in recent history

Manchester City are once again in the FA Cup final, third season running and are in the hunt for their first silverware of the season.

Guardiola’s side will face Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace in the FA Cup 2024-25 final.

How many FA Cup victories have Man City had?

Only six clubs have captured more FA Cups than Manchester City (six); they have won six of them. Blackburn Rovers and Newcastle United have also won 6 titles each.

With 14 FA Cup victories, Arsenal are the most accomplished club in the competition’s history. Manchester United (12), Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham, and Aston Villa (all with 8) round out the top five.

In the Premier League time period, City have won the FA Cup a couple of times, with Roberto Mancini’s victory over Stoke City in the 2011 final being the club’s first significant victory since their 2008 takeover.

Yaya Touré’s game-winning goal was seen as a turning point for City’s success; one year later, Mancini led them to their first-ever Premier League championship.

Guardiola’s lone victory in the FA Cup occurred in a 6-0 Wembley thrashing of Watford in the event’s most recent final.

Along with winning six titles, City have also lost five finals, bringing its total number of final appearances to 11.

After Guardiola’s team overcame Sheffield United 3-0 in this season’s semifinals, that number will rise to 12 on June 3.

The most infamous final loss for City were a shocking 1-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic in 2013 when Ben Watson scored the game-winning goal for the Latics in extra time.

Roberto Martinez’s team won the championship over City, however, despite City finishing second in the standings a few weeks later, Roberto Martinez’s team was demoted from the Premier League.
