FIFA U20 World Cup 2023: Updated Semifinals schedule

One of these teams will make it into the history books

The FIFA U20 World Cup has reached the semi-final stage. After hard-fought battles in their quarterfinal clashes, Israel, Italy, South Korea, and Uruguay remain in the competition. None of these teams have ever won the FIFA U20 World Cup.

Argentina is the host of the FIFA U20 World Cup 2023 edition. Only one South American nation makes it to the final four.

South Korea and Italy reach the semifinal stage for the second consecutive time. The Koreans lost the final match of the FIFA U20 World Cup 2019 edition. Italy, on the other hand, came third in the standings. They face each other, and only one of these teams can make it to the final stage.

Uruguay U20 vs Israel U20

The only South American nation left in the tournament is Uruguay. They will face the Isreal U20 side, who have reached the semifinal stages for the first time in their history. Uruguay U20 will be playing their seventh semifinal match in the FIFA U20 World Cup.

Uruguay U20 won their quarterfinal match against USA U20 by a scoreline of 2-0. Anderson Duarte gave his side the lead. Joshua Wydner's own goal in the second half handed Uruguay a spot in the semifinals. Uruguay have twice been runners-up and will look for their best finish in the tournament.

Isreal U20 won a thrilling encounter against Brazil U20. The match went into extra time and finished 3-2 in favour of Israel. They will now look to play their first-ever final.

Italy U20 vs South Korea U20

Italy U20 will play FIFA U20 World Cup 2019 runners-ups, South Korea. Both teams reach the last four for the third time in their history. Italy have never reached the finals.

The European nation registered a 3-1 win over Colombia in their quarterfinal match. Italy took an early lead and were 2-0 up at halftime. They have a chance to lift their first-ever FIFA U20 World Cup crown.

South Korea U20 won their match 1-0 against Nigeria U20 side. This match went into extra time. Seok-Hyun Chan scored the only goal of the match and sent South Korea to another semifinal.
