How AC Milan could lineup next season?
They will look to bring in some fresh faces in the transfer window
Next season, AC Milan will want to compete in the Serie A, Coppa Italia, and the Champions League, but there is already a lot of focus on how the team can get better.
We have examined how AC Milan might line up for the upcoming campaign, beginning with Mike Maignan in goal and the same defence of Davide Calabria, Fikayo Tomori, and Theo Hernandez.
While there will be amendments to the midfield and forward lines because of potential player departures, AC Milan would prefer to sign a new striker considering Giroud's advanced age.
GK: Mike Maigan
The journey to the semifinal has given Milan's more casual supporters the chance to witness Maignan's true talent. He has performed admirably, and given Hugo Lloris' retirement from international football, he may now be France's first-choice custodian. Next season, Maigan will have yet another significant role to play, and ideally, he will lead the team to the UCL final.
RB: Davide Calabria
He has been AC Milan's go-to right-back and will remain that way throughout the upcoming campaign. The Italian will be trying to carry over his strong performance from this season, which helped Milan get to the semifinals of the Champions League, and he will expect to deliver the same performance in the upcoming campaign.
CB: Pierre Kalulu
The youthful player has been outstanding for AC Milan; at only 22 years old, he has started 34 games for the Rossoneri, helped the team advance to the Champions League semifinals, and helped Milan finish fourth this season to secure a berth in the UCL for the following season. In tandem, he and Tomori have created a solid backline defence, demonstrating their strong communication.
CB: Fikaro Tomori
When Chelsea decided not to trust the defender, AC Milan stepped up and made the acquisition, which turned out to be valuable as he has since become Milan's top defender and was also chosen as the club's best player this season. Tomori has made remarkable progress, and hopefully, he will be anticipating a call-up to the national team for the Euros.
LB: Theo Hernandez
Words simply cannot express how fantastic Theo has been. He has been genuinely outstanding and is the most complete full-back we have seen in contemporary football. AC Milan are extremely fortunate to have him as their left-back. He possesses excellent offensive and defensive skills. The Frenchman will undoubtedly play a significant role for Milan in the upcoming season.
CM: Ruben Loftus-Cheek
Milan and Chelsea are nearing an agreement for the signing of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who might significantly alter their defence for the upcoming campaign. The midfielder did not play in enough games at Chelsea this season, but Milan may use him to their advantage next year. Loftus-Cheek is a strong defender, and under Tuchel, it was clear.
CM: Sandro Tonali
Sandro Tonali has been a rock in AC Milan's midfield. He is one of the best youngsters in Italy and also has leadership qualities. The 23-year-old will look to achieve a bit of success at Milan and will play a crucial role in their success in the 2023-24 season.
CM: Milinkovic-Savic
The 28-year-old will not renew his contract at the Stadio Olimpico and will cost between €30 and €35 million due to interest from the Serie A and Premier League.
The Serb was acquired by Biancocelesti in 2015 from Genk, but he'll be leaving after eight campaigns. At the end of the following June, Milinkovic-Savic's current deal with Lazio expires. The midfielder was given a new contract by the Biancocelesti, but he isn't planning to accept it.
RW: Rafael Leao
Although the Rossoneri could have advanced to the Champions League final had Leao not been injured, he was named Serie A player of the season last year and has continued to perform well this year as well. Given his immense importance to the team, Leao has the ability to alter the course of any game. Hopefully, the Portuguese will provide more in the upcoming season.
CF: Folarin Balogun
Although Balogun is on loan from Premier League powerhouse Arsenal, it is anticipated that he will push for a long-term departure from Emirates Stadium at the earliest chance. The giants of Serie A Milan are prepared to move for the highly regarded forward.
As Olivier Giroud reaches his 37th birthday and Zlatan Ibrahimovic gets ready to leave the club, the Rossoneri are eager to bring in another seasoned No. 9. Balogun is the right choice, and AC Milan is also trying to sign Rafael Leao, a talented Portuguese international, to a new deal.
LW: Alexis Saelemaekers
With 29 appearances for the Serie A giants, Alexis Saelemaekers has established himself as a staple at AC Milan and has demonstrated his excellence in the game. He will be looking to take the same performance into next season.
