Inter Milan target Alvaro Morata as Romelu Lukaku's alternative

The Spanish striker has played for rivals Juventus
Alvaro Morata, currently playing for Atletico Madrid and a former Juventus and Real Madrid striker, has been targeted by Inter Milan as an alternative candidate for Chelsea's Romelu Lukaku.
The Nerazzurri may compete with AC Milan to secure the 30-year-old's services, as reported in today's print version of the Milan-based publication Gazzetta dello Sport. This summer, Inter are already close to adding one significant attacking player.
They must finalise their agreement to acquire Marcus Thuram from Borussia Monchengladbach with no money down. In all actuality, the Frenchman will take Edin Dzeko's place in the team. The Nerazzurri still have work to do in terms of their assault, though.
Romelu Lukaku's position is still uncertain. Inter have been attempting to reach an agreement with Chelsea for another loan.
On the other hand, the Blues have thus far turned down every request from the Nerazzurri to loan the Belgian, just like they did the previous year.
Chelsea wants to offload the Belgian striker for good. The former Everton and Manchester United star is wanted by the Blues for a cost of between €40 and €45 million.
Given that they missed out on Thuram, Inter's local rivals, AC Milan, might be willing to pay that. Al-Hilal are also watching quietly in the background.
Therefore, the Nerazzurri are unable to presume that they will be able to re-sign Lukaku for another campaign. Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is one of the primary alternate targets for the Nerazzurri.
The Spanish player's contract with the Colchoneros concludes at the conclusion of the current season, which is next June. The football team from the Spanish city would therefore consider bids of roughly €10 million.
Alvaro Morata is a target for Inter Milan. The ex-Bianconeri and Chelsea player is their main goal.
The story continues by stating that Morata might play a smaller part if he stays at Atleti because it is known that they want to sign Edinson Cavani, and this might damage Morata's hopes of making Spain's team for the European Championships.
If Lautaro Martinez leaves the team, Inter will solely pursue the former Juventus player; if the Argentine stays, Inter will pursue Mattheus Cunha, Adolfo Gaich, or a more seasoned player such as Olivier Giroud.
