Jude Bellingham to inherit legendary number 7 at Real Madrid

The Englishman will be their key signing in the summer
If Jude Bellingham moves to the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid may be planning to give him the coveted number seven jersey.
According to the Spanish publication El Mundo, Bellingham, 19, might wear the number 7 at Madrid if he signs with the La Liga giants this summer.
The English adolescent is Los Blancos' main priority in the transfer market and is likely to sign with Carlo Ancelotti's team.
The last rounds of negotiations between Bellingham's Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, have been reached.
The midfielder and Los Merengues have already reached a personal understanding over a deal that will see him sign a six-year contract. Should Jude Bellingham receive the number seven, he will continue the legacy of some of Madrid's greatest players.
None did so more than Cristiano Ronaldo, who achieved record-breaking feats while adorning the renowned jersey number.
During his tenure at the Bernabeu, he scored 450 goals in 438 games while earning four Champions League medals. The legendary Portuguese player has won four Ballons d'Or at the Bernabeu and is the club's all-time leading scorer.
Raul was another legendary Real Madrid player who had the number seven jersey while playing for Los Merengues. The legendary Spanish forward won the Champions League three times and La Liga six times while scoring 323 goals in 741 appearances.
Another Real Madrid legend who carried the number seven jersey during his time in the Spanish city is Emilio Butragueo.
In 451 games, the great attacker scored 168 goals and claimed six Spanish championships. Other luminaries who have worn the number seven jersey for Los Blancos include Kopa and Amancio.
As a result of Eden Hazard's release from Real Madrid, the number seven jersey is presently vacant. During his four years playing for Ancelotti, the Belgian went nowhere to make a statement with the famous song.
This season, Jude Bellingham made Bundesliga history by becoming the league's youngest skipper while playing for Dortmund.
He also made history by scoring in a Champions League match as the youngest captain. The English adolescent played in 42 games across different tournaments, contributing seven assists and scoring 14 goals.
Given that Real Madrid legend-making players have worn the number 7, the former Birmingham midfielder will be carrying a lot of weight in wearing it.
And while Hazard failed miserably, we cannot hold it against him because his Madrid career was plagued by injuries, with Ronaldo being the last player to successfully live up to the benchmark for this number.
However, Bellingham has exceptional qualities, and he will work diligently to make the most of the legendary number.
