Manchester United exploring options to loan out Mason Greenwood

The young forward is expected to re-start his football career

According to rumours, Erik Ten Hag is unwilling to sell the attacker, Manchester United are inclined towards lending Mason Greenwood.

Mason Greenwood "no longer faces criminal proceedings," according to a February 2 statement from Greater Manchester Police. Charges against Greenwood, 21, included attempted rape, using coercive or controlling tactics, and assault.

United have been pursuing their own procedure while they "determine the next steps" after the Crown Prosecution Service dropped all charges against Mason Greenwood.

United have debated Mason Greenwood's future for nearly five months, and a club insider maintains they are intent on reaching a decision before the start of the upcoming season.

Mason Greenwood last participated in the 1-0 victory over West Ham on January 22, 2022, and he is under contract with United through 2025, with the possibility of an extra year.

Although the allegations were dismissed nearly five months ago, Greenwood has not visited United's Carrington camp facility. In more recent pictures, he was seen working out alone.

In order to make up for Greenwood's prolonged absence from work, United last year acquired left-footed right-sided winger Antony from Ajax for £85.51 million.

Despite being seen working with an individual tutor, Greenwood hasn't resumed his training at United's Carrington facility.

Greenwood, whose name has been linked to clubs in Turkey and Italy, has 129 games for the Red Devils and 35 goals to his credit. He is currently under deal through 2025.

The 21-year-old has a deal through 2025 with an additional year's option, and Transfermarkt has previously placed a value on him of up to €50 million.
