Manchester United open to selling Jadon Sancho; Aston Villa and Spurs keen

Jadon Sancho has struggled to make a statement since joining Manchester United

Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Jadon Sancho, and Manchester United are likely to sell the England International.

According to sources, the winger will finally be permitted to depart Old Trafford following a difficult two-year stay.

For Jadon Sancho, Man Utd are asking for £60 million (€70 million). Although the Midlands club is now unwilling to purchase the Englishman for that much, conversations may still take place and an agreement between both sides may be achieved.

The 23-year-old's Expected Transfer Cost (xTV) according to our proprietary model is €55.4 million, thus Birmingham are perfectly within their rights to ask United to reduce their asking price.

The allegations that Tottenham Hotspur wanted the player are reportedly untrue, but Villa, who are close to hiring Monchi from Sevilla as a sporting director, are quite keen.

United's initial investment in Sancho is the basis for their high asking price. After several brilliant seasons at Borussia Dortmund, the Manchester City academy product was signed for a high cost of €85 million.

Sancho, though, has fallen short of expectations since arriving at Old Trafford. His tenure on the red side of Manchester has been marked by poor performances, physical and mental problems, and fitness challenges.

The left-winger has only scored 12 goals and provided six assists in 79 games. Late last year, he was even sent on a lone training vacation to the Netherlands to unwind, but since then, his displays have not significantly improved.

The FA Cup final against Manchester City, when the management thought the 23-year-old was not up to par, was the last straw for United manager Erik ten Hag.

The breathless performance of 18-year-old winger Alejandro Garnacho, who the manager thinks can be an ongoing starter for the Premier League team the following season, added to the difficulty of this choice.
