AC Milan's midfielder is set to sign a six-year contract

Newcastle United have reached an agreement with AC Milan to sign Sandro Tonali for €70 million, and the Italian has penned down a six-year deal that will keep him at Tyneside until 2029.

Newcastle now have Sandro Tonali at their disposal in the Premier League. The former Brescia star player will join one of the clubs that has made sumptuous strides in the last year under a new owner.

The deal's specifics have just been verified by Fabrizio Romano: the two teams have come to a conclusion on a fee of €70 million plus bonuses.

The Rossoneri will actually include a sell-on clause as well. As documentation is being exchanged for the player's transfer, the deal is in its final stages.

On an agreed-upon wage of 7 million euros every season and extra payments of 2 million euros, Sandro Tonali will sign the papers tying him to the Magpies through the year 2029.

Notably, this is the most expensive transfer fee ever paid for an Italian player.

Newcastle representatives visited Milan to negotiate conditions, and Tonali, who is leading the Italy Under-21 team at the European Championship, may undergo a physical test there.

It is going to be difficult to leave Italy, but Tonali has been informed of the players, such as Bruno Guimaraes, whose careers have advanced after joining Newcastle's development under manager Eddie Howe.

From the tender age of ten, Tonali had viewed Milan through the San Siro terraces. Giandomenico, his father, was an "ultra" supporter who travelled to away matches and applauded across the curva. He came from the adjacent city of Lodi.

On the contrary, he was thrilled about the new Andrea Pirlo when he was 17 and initially drew attention at Brescia, which he thought to be a "burden."

He, therefore, said that Gennaro Gattuso was his hero and that he possessed a mug with his image on it from when he was a child. When Milan signed him from Brescia in September 2020, originally on loan, he requested Gattuso's No. 8 shirt.
