According to rumours in Italy, Sandro Tonali's agents are in London to talk about a final agreement that would let the midfielder leave from AC Milan to Newcastle United.

For almost £13 million, the 23-year-old transferred from Brescia to AC Milan in 2021. He proved outstanding for the Serie A powerhouses, helping them get to the 2022–23 Champions League semifinals.

On Tuesday night, it was stated that Chelsea and Newcastle had both made offers for Tonali in the range of €50 million (£42.9 million).

Additionally, Tonali's advisors have 'landed' in London, as reported by Sport Italia, to negotiate a contract with Newcastle.

Its understood that the offer is between €60 and €65 million, contrary to several reports that the Magpies have made a €50 million approach for Tonali.

If the contract is completed, the Italian international might get a significant pay rise. He presently makes about €2.5 million a year, but if he signs a long-term deal with St James' Park, he could make €6 million plus bonuses.

Newcastle's opening offer said to be between €55 and €60 million plus bonuses, was rejected by Milan, who now demand an outrageous €80 million (£68 million).

According to the Italian newspaper, Tonali is not interested in joining the Premier League. Tonali and James Maddison, a playmaker for Leicester City, are Eddie Howe's top targets during the summer transfer window.

However, the transfer for Tonali currently appears more realistic as the talks between clubs have advanced and its just a matter of time.
