Napoli dominated the Italian top flight this season

The top goalkeeper, greatest defender, finest midfielder, outstanding striker, best young player, best manager, and best overall player (MVP) of a given Serie A, Coppa Italia, and Supercoppa Italiana season are recognised with the Serie A Awards.

A balanced method developed by Ernst & Young, based on statistics reporting from Stats Perform and Opta Sports, and reinforced by data collection from Netco Sports, determines the rankings for each category.

The Most Expensive Coach accolade and the Most Important Field trophy for the top football field were both established in the 2021–22 season.

However, this time Napoli made a clean sweep of the Serie A award except for the best goalkeeper.

MVP of the season: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

The Serie A MVP Award went to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, a Georgian football player for Napoli. Kvaratskhelia's 12 goals and 10 assists in 33 games assisted Napoli in winning the inaugural Scudetto in 33 years.

Kvaratskhelia arrived in Napoli last summer and quickly rose to prominence. As one of Napoli's main players in their quest for their first league title in 33 years at the age of 22, the Georgian international attracted interest from some of Europe's richest football clubs.

Serie A Defender of the Season: Kim Min-Jae

Kim Min-Jae of Napoli, a Korean centre-back, has been awarded Serie A's top defender of the 2022–2023 season as well as the league's Squad of the Season, capping up a fantastic maiden season in Italy.

The season-ending individual award winners for Serie A were revealed on the league's website on Friday (local time). The league selected the most talented players in the under-23, goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and striker categories. The rewards were determined, among other things, by statistical analysis and an evaluation of positional data.

Giovanni Di Lorenzo of Napoli and Theo Hernandez of AC Milan were beaten by Kim for the title of the best defender. The first Asian athlete to receive this honour is he.

Serie A Striker of the Season: Victor Osimhen

With his victory over Inter Milan's Lautaro Martinez to win the coveted individual award, Napoli striker Osimhen created history by being the first African player to win the renowned Italian Serie A golden boot award, commonly known as the "Capocannoniere."

The Nigerian ace has firmly established himself as one of the game's most lethal strikers. This season, Napoli won the Italian top division after a 33-year wait thanks in large part to his remarkable goal-scoring record of 26 goals in 32 Serie A matches. His most recent goal was scored from a penalty spot as Napoli defeated Sampdoria 2-0 to finish the season.

Serie A manager of the season: Luciano Spalletti

As Napoli secured their first-ever Scudetto in 33 years on Thursday, Luciano Spalletti was named the Italian Serie A Coach of the Year. Luciano Spalletti, the head coach of Napoli, received the Serie A TIM 2022/2023 Manager of the Year award.

Napoli had a magical season and won the Italian championship for the first time since 1990 under the 64-year-old Spalletti's leadership.

Serie A U23 player of the season: Nicolo Fagioli

The Serie A U23 Player of the Season is Nicolo Fagioli. The midfielder has enjoyed an outstanding season, capitalising on his temporary stint at Cremonese from the previous year to establish himself as an important member of Juventus.

Fagioli has stood out and been given a greater role than veteran midfielders like Leandro Paredes, despite originally being maintained for roster depth. He has established himself as a valuable component of the first squad, and Juventus is thrilled to have kept him.
