Szymon Marciniak becomes second referee to manage World Cup and Champions League finals in same season

The last time this happened was in 2010
For the second time in history, the same referee will be officiating the World Cup final and UEFA Champions League final. Polish referee, Szymon Marciniak, will be the man taking in charge of the match between Manchester City and Inter Milan. He was in charge of the final played between Argentina and France in the 2022 World Cup.
Former FA official, Howard Webb was the first referee to officiate these two finals in a single season. The English referee took charge of the 2010 World Cup between Spain and the Netherlands. In the UEFA Champions League final, he managed the game between Inter Milan and Bayern Munich.
One of the interesting facts is that Inter Milan won the Champions League in that particular season when the same referee officiated a World Cup final and Champions League final in the same season.
Spain won the World Cup 1-0 in 2010. The Champions League match between Inter and Bayern took place before the start of the World Cup. This match ended 2-0.
This season, the World Cup final has already been played. The match ended 3-3 and Argentina went to win on penalties. Heading into the Champions League final, Manchester City have an edge over their Italian opponents. They are the clear favourites to lift the Champions League trophy for the first time.
The match between these two teams is likely to produce a lot of drama. Inter won't let this crown slip from their hands that easily. Manchester City will feel the heat of the final match. The last time they played a UEFA Champions League final, they lost the match 1-0 against Chelsea.
Szymon Marciniak has been a ref in seven UCL games this season. he has produced 28 yellow cards and given four spot-kicks. This match is expected to produce a lot of tackles and players won't mind taking a booking in the final match of the season.
Manchester City and Inter Milan play in the UCL 2022-23 final. This is a big match for both teams and the end result will show which team is the best in Europe.
