Top 10 most likely transfers that may happen in summer 2023

Some major footballing talents such as Mbappe, Mount, Rice, etc. could be changing clubs from June onwards.
The summer transfer window of 2023 officially opened on 14th June. That brings the rumours, interests, incomings, and outgoings for all the clubs across Europe. Hence it's natural that top players from last season may get a move to their favoured clubs. Here's a look at the top 10 most likely transfers that may happen in summer 2023:
10. Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea) - Bayern Munich
The record goalscorer for Belgium hasn't had the greatest of seasons. After being on loan at Inter, his World Cup campaign turned out to be a nightmare where he missed glaring chances to put Belgium through to the knockout rounds. In the UCL final last week, he found himself in a similar scenario and ended up missing a big chance to put Inter level, late in the tie.
It's unlikely that Chelsea would want him around next season, and another loan move to Inter might be difficult to pull off. Hence, an interesting opportunity to the Bundesliga could be on the card, with Bayern in need of a striker and a loan move with an option to purchase could push it over the line.
9. James Maddison (Leicester City) - Newcastle United
The Leicester City attacking midfielder is the amongst the pool of talented players who've been relegated with the Foxes. He's been valued at 70 million Euros as per reports in the UK, and Tottenham and Newcastle being favourites. However, his creativity will be a welcome addition to Eddie Howe's side, with Maddison finishing with 10 goals and 9 assists in the Premier League last season, and could be on the move for nearly 70 million pounds.
8. Levi Colwill (Chelsea) - Brighton
Chelsea's brightest English asset had an outstanding season with Brighton and helped them reach the Europa League. Now the Seagulls would like to have him permanently for next season's Premier League and Europa League adventure. Chelsea would not like to sell him given his increasing value given he's also called up to the England squad. However, Chelsea is interested in Caicedo and an arrangement can be made where both sides get their places, given Brighton has made an initial 40 million pound bid.
7. Sofyan Amrabat (Fiorentina) - Barcelona
The Fiorentina midfielder was a beaten finalist in this year's UEFA Conference League final against Declan Rice's West Ham. However, his performances across the season have been very consistent and instrumental for both his club and country. Morocco also reached the World Cup semifinals and was arguably the standout midfielder of the tournament. Both Bayern and Barcelona are interested in him for 40 million Euros, and a move looks inevitable.
6. Mason Mount (Chelsea) - Manchester United
The Chelsea youth product is now at a crossroads at his boyhood club. With his contract expiring in 2024, and the uncertainty in the club with lots of changes in management and new players, Mount might be looking for a move this summer. He's already won the Champions League with Chelsea and looking like a favourite to go to Manchester United. Although Chelsea expects a high fee of nearly 70 million euros, Eric Ten Hag will be keen to get the deal over the line for the versatile English player who can play in a variety of positions in midfield.
5. Khephren Thuram (Nice) - Liverpool
The Nice midfielder is a French youth product with a huge prospect for France in the future. He's also popularly known for being the younger son of French World Cup winner Lillian Thuram, and the younger brother of Marcus Thuram at Borussia Monchengladbach.
Besides his impressive lineage, Liverpool are also keenly interested in his physical qualities given his 6 ft 4-inch frame, as well as his ability to play as a box-to-box midfielder. Given the nature of his complete potential and profile, a fear near 50 million Euros might be what Nice expect to let him go to Anfield, given he's already accepted personal terms.
4. Moises Caicedo (Brighton) - Chelsea
The Ecuadorian is amongst the hottest midfield players available in the transfer market currently. After the departure of Alexis MacAlister to Liverpool, Caicedo could be the next one out of the door at Brighton, after helping them reach the Europa League. Chelsea is the most likely destination with a keen need for a defensive midfielder to pair alongside Enzo Fernandez. He's been linked with Arsenal as well, however, an 80 million valuation is looking like something Chelsea would be willing to pay to acquire him.
3. Mateo Kovacic (Chelsea) - Manchester City
The Croatian midfielder is amongst the host of players on the verge of leaving Chelsea this season. He's been identified by Pep Guardiola to bring more depth and quality to Manchester City's treble-winning midfield, with uncertainty over Gundogan's future. According to reports, he's already agreed to personal terms and might be on the move for 40 million Euros, after a disappointing season in London.
2. Declan Rice (West Ham United) - Arsenal

The West Ham captain has just finished the season by winning the Europa Conference League and qualifying for next season's Europa League. However, he's recently rejected contract extensions offered by the Hammers with the possibility of playing in the Champions League on his mind. According to reports, Rice is Arsenal's primary target and might be on the move for nearly 100 million. His presence in midfield and overall leadership is exactly what the Gunners might need to overcome Manchester City in their league title aspirations.
1. Kylian Mbappe (PSG) - Real Madrid
Arguably the biggest name of all in the transfer market currently, Kylian Mbappe might finally leave PSG this summer. His decision of not extending his current contract beyond 2024, has rocked his club and brought back the attention of Real Madrid to acquire him. Although an expensive proposition, any deal worth 150 million and above should be enough to convince PSG to let go of their all-time record goalscorer.
