Inter Milan and Chelsea did some transfer business

Another week of busy summer transfers has seen numerous deals in football that went unnoticed. Ilkay Gundogan has officially left Manchester City and joined Barcelona on a free transfer, while Sergio Busquets has moved to Inter Miami, where he will reunite with Lionel Messi.

Clubs have shown no signs of stopping now as they appear to strengthen their roster for the following campaign. There are also many rumours, and a few acquisitions are in the final stages of being completed. Let's look at some of the signings that you may have witnessed.

10. Marcus Thuram to Inter Milan

Marcus Thuram, who preferred a move to Inter over Milan, their intra-city rivals, is anticipated to sign a five-year deal with Inter the following week.

The Frenchman, 25, has made the decision to leave Borussia Monchengladbach this month on a free transfer, enabling him to finally complete the move to Serie A. Despite offering him a hefty deal, Paris Saint-Germain, who were also interested in him, were unable to persuade him to join the team.

Thuram will be an asset to Simone Inzaghi's team, strengthening their attack in the wake of Edin Dzeko's recent exit.

9. Sergio Busquets to Inter Miami

The Major League Soccer team revealed on Friday that free player Sergio Busquets will join Inter Miami. The 34-year-old former midfielder for Barcelona and Spain, who chose not to extend his lease at Camp Nou at the conclusion of an 18-year stint, will be rejoined by his friend and longtime colleague Lionel Messi.

Inter Miami officially announced the development by sharing a video on social media with praise for Busquets from Pep Guardiola, Xavi Hernandez, Luka Modric, and Lionel Messi, among others.

8. Angel Di Maria to Benfica

After leaving Benfica 13 years ago, Angel Di Maria is getting ready to make a stunning comeback after leaving Juventus after just one Serie A season.

After spending seven years with PSG, the 35-year-old signed a one-year contract with the Turin team last summer. Despite the club's turbulent year, the player had a successful season on his own.

Di Maria is best known for his significant contribution to Argentina's World Cup victory over France in the middle of last season, where he scored the second goal in the team's 4-2 victory on penalties.

7. Romain Mundle to Standard Liege

Romaine Mundle, a talented teenage winger for Tottenham Hotspur, is about to leave the team and follow Yaya Toure at Standard Liege in Belgium this summer.

Fabrizio Romano, a prominent transfer analyst, confirmed the report, saying that Mundle has decided to join the Belgian team as his one-year deal with Tottenham finishes on July 1st, 2023.

Romano claims that the 20-year-old player is about to agree to a four-year deal with Standard Liege that will last through June 2027. Only the contract signature remains after the medical examinations have been finished.

6. Kalidou Koulibay to Al-Hilal

Kalidou Koulibaly departed Chelsea barely a year after joining the Blues to sign for Al-Hilal within the Saudi Pro League for £20 million.

The 32-year-old signed a four-year contract to join Chelsea from Napoli in a move worth £34 million last summer. He was one of many players brought in as Todd Boehly led an unsuccessful £600 million revamp of the Blues squad. Koulibaly completed 32 games for the Blues in the one year he spent at the club, scoring twice for the West Londoners.

5. Nicolas Jackson to Chelsea

The Senegal forward's Villarreal term contains a €35 million (£30.1 million) release clause, and the specifics of an eight-year deal at Stamford Bridge are still being worked out.

Jackson has become a prominent target for Chelsea during the summer as they try to upgrade their front line after already signing Christopher Nkunku from RB Leipzig in Germany.

Jackson led Villarreal in scoring with 13 goals and five assists across all competitions last season, and an official announcement of his transfer to Stamford Bridge is anticipated in the following days.

4. Fabio Carvalho to RB Leipzig

Fabio Carvalho has signed a loan deal with a Bundesliga team for the 2023–24 season. Liverpool earlier turned down a permanent offer from Leipzig for the player in the neighbourhood of £10 million, reiterating their desire to hold onto the midfielder they bought from Fulham for £7.7 million just over a year ago. They are still open to a lending deal without a buyout clause, though.

3. Yann Aurel Bisseck to Inter Milan

Yann Aurel Bisseck, an emerging German defender, has been signed by the Nerazzurri, adding to Inter's defensive reinforcements.

According to FcInterNews, the Milanese club has triggered the 22-year-old's €7 million release clause because they are willing to provide a four-year contract at €800,000 and are hoping to complete the transfer to the San Siro as soon as next week.

The central defender has been instrumental since joining Danish team Aarhus GF from FC Koln last summer. He has made 22 appearances, scored three goals, and provided three assists during the current season.

2. Kim Ji-Soo to Brentford

Kim Ji-Soo joined Brentford for an unknown amount from K League Two team Seongnam on a four-year deal with the optional possibility of signing an extra year. It will be the B-team for the 18-year-old.

Kim was promoted to the first team in January 2022 and made 19 appearances for Seongnam in the inaugural season.

Additionally, he has played 29 international matches for the South Korean team in three distinct age groups. Recently, he played for the country in the Under-20 World Cup, in which they finished in fourth place.

1. Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona

Ilkay Gündogan left treble champions Manchester City and joined Barcelona on a free transfer. The treble-winning captain declined the opportunity to continue at City and will join Barça after the conclusion of his current contract. Barça have placed his buyout clause at €400 million (£342 million).

In his 304th and farewell appearance, Gündogan, who was coach Pep Guardiola's first acquisition in July 2016, had a memorable exit by winning the Champions League earlier this month.
