Hugo Boumous dines with French President Emmanuel Macron & India PM Narendra Modi
PM Narendra Modi was the Chief Guest of France in the Bastille Day celebration on 14th July in Paris.
Hugo Boumous, the French-Moroccan footballer plying his trade for Mohun Bagan Super Giant was invited by the French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Madame Brigitte Macron at the State Dinner for Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was their distinguished guest at the iconic Louvre Museum in the capital City of Paris.
Why Hugo Boumous was invited
The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the guest of honour of France for the Bastille Day Celebration this year. Many renowned guests from the Indo-French community, including businessmen, top diplomats and other guests, who have helped strengthen the relationships between the two countries were invited for the State Dinner.
Hugo Boumous, took on his twitter and expressed his delight on the invitation by saying, “Very delighted to have been invited by the French President Macron for an official dinner with the PM Narendra Modi on 14th of July at Louvre Museum for the France National day. It was really nice and rewarding there to meet interesting persons from both countries.”
He shared the image of the official invitation sent to him by the French authorities which read, “Mr President of the (French) Republic and Madame Briggite Macron ask Mr Hugo Boumous professional football player (ATK Mohun Bagan) to come to the official dinner organised in memory of His Excellency Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of the Republic of India at the Louvre Museum, on Friday 14th 2023."
About Hugo Boumous
Hugo Boumous has been part of the Indian Super League since 2018, representing FC Goa, Mumbai City FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant. The midfielder has played key roles in all the three sides he has represented, having claimed the ISL League Shield twice (once with FC Goa and the other time with Mumbai City FC).
In the year 2021, the Kolkata-based outfit paid a huge transfer fee and acquired his services and since then he has played 41 games and scored 10 goals for the Kolkata Giants.
