Arda Guler will decide his future on Tuesday with Barcelona leading race
Top European giants are targeting the Turkish youngster
The talented Turkish player Arda Guler appears to be deciding on his future this week, and the most recent reports out of Istanbul indicate that he is already making up his mind.
In recent weeks, Guler, 18, has emerged as one of the most coveted young prospects, with a long list of teams lining up to activate his €17.5 million release clause.
Given the fierce competition for Guler, it seems that Barcelona are willing to waive that condition in order to persuade Fenerbahce to sign a contract, which would also allow Guler to stay with them for the upcoming season.
Real Madrid appears to be their biggest contender in this race as well and will be the main impediment to concluding a deal. Over the past 24 hours, Los Blancos are rumoured to have increased their bid to persuade Guler.
However, Radyo Gol has been informed by Elie Buse Arac that Guler has made the choice to consent to Barcelona's proposal. He will now inform Barcelona and Fenerbahce of his choice on Tuesday.
They will consider it a significant victory if Guler chooses the Blaugrana, beating out clubs like Real Madrid, Milan, and Borussia Dortmund.
Guler possesses exceptional ball control and technique, and he can play either wide or in the middle of the field. Guler has undoubtedly accomplished enough to persuade Barcelona that his signing is required, despite other requirements and despite his youth and limited financial means.
He transferred to Fenerbahçe in 2019 at the young age of 14 after graduating from the Gençlerbirlii school, which has long been renowned for producing talent.
Fenerbahçe supporters quickly became enthused about their gifted youngster. Güler recorded his first Turkish Süper Lig assist in just over two minutes after making his professional debut in August 2021 as a 16-year-old.
Güler used a deft body move to elude a defender prior to passing the ball to goalscorer Miha Zajc late in the victory over Antalyaspor.
Fans were quickly demanding that Güler be given a chance to start, and although he was dropped to the bench for the next two league contests, he would just miss two of Fenerbahçe's remaining 17 Süper Lig games.
