Memphis posted a tweet and was really open about the recently concluded case. Mendy was accused of facing seven counts of rape and one of sexual assault.

Earlier this year, his charges of attacking five women between October 2020 and August 2021 were dropped. Today he was cleared for his remaining charges of raping a woman and attempting to rape another.

Depay came openly to comment on the struggles that Mendy had to face and how it affected his career.

He started with, "All cases dismissed. So what are we doing now? Who is going to help this brother heal?"

The Frenchman's image in society was also affected as he was behind bars. He was everywhere on the news and the internet. In relation to this Depay questioned: "Who’s going to be Responsible for the damage on he’s name?"

Further, Mendy only played one league game in the Premier League 2021-22 season. He has been out of action and will now look to make a return.

Memphis was really upset regarding this situation and commented, "How he’s going to have he’s career back? Many years of investment to become a professional football player…. Now what!?"

The Dutchman added that he spoke to Mendy on FaceTime while he was behind bars and also has faced him a couple of times. "I didn’t see any evil in the man." These were the words of Depay.

Towards the end, he asked for everyone's support for the player.

"We can’t accept this to happen to us as athletes. Who’s going to stand up for us in the time of need not when the damage is already done? Don’t turn your head people."
