Oriane Jean-Francois has been ruled out of the tournament

Oriane Jean-Francois has been ruled out of France's squad ahead of FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 after France announced its 23-player roster for the Women's World Cup on Tuesday.

Jean-Francois of Paris Saint-Germain has three caps for France but has been dealing with adductor pain for a few weeks.

The France Women's World Cup 2023 team is in an intriguing situation considering that new coach Herve Renard has only begun leading his team in April. Several players who had been cut from the French team have returned since Renard took over as manager.

Due to the actions of the previous head coach Corinne Diacre, the French squad has been the subject of scandal in recent years.

Players who had challenged Diacre's leadership style and the culture she had cultivated among the French team had publicly argued with her.

Mylene Chavas, a goalkeeper, and Assatou Tounkara, a central defender with 39 caps, both missed the cut but will remain on the sidelines list till July 22, the night before France's opening match over Jamaica in Sydney.

Prior to departing for Australia two days following that, Herve Renard's France will take part in an exhibition game against Ireland on Thursday in Dublin.
