As Manchester United are ready to officially disclose the acquisition of Mason Mount from Chelsea, they might be on the verge of making a second summer acquisition. Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat is closing a move to the Premier League club after agreeing on personal terms.

After United decided to shell out a startling £55 million, plus a further $5 million in associated performance add-ons, for the England international, he is currently undergoing medical tests and will sign a five-year contract with an option to extend.

Mount might join United soon and make his team debut the following week once the Red Devils start their preseason training.

However, Manchester United are still looking into other offers as they feel they still need more reinforcement in their midfield, and now, according to a recent update, they have reportedly reached a personal agreement with Fiorentina striker Sofyan Amrabat.

After a phenomenal World Cup, the attacking midfielder has drawn attention from clubs like Barcelona, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, and teams in Saudi Arabia.

Sofyan Amrabat represented one of the highlights of the Qatar Cup, putting on a string of all-action midfield performances that helped Morocco, a favourite, get to the semifinals.

Additionally, Sport Witness quotes the Italian publication La Nazione as saying that Manchester United have an "economic deal" with the 26-year-old and are major admirers of him.

Before Sofyan Amrabat's agreement expires in 2024, Fiorentina, who made it to the Europa Conference League final in the 2022–23 season, reportedly demands at least €30 million (£26 million) for his future with the club.

For United, who are apparently happy to treble his €37,000-per-week wage, he would be a coup.

Amrabat, who typically plays as a defensive midfielder for the Red Devils, would substitute for Casemiro, whose value to the team was clear each time he was out last year due to a suspension.
