Celta Vigo youngster Gabri Veiga is being pursued by PSG in addition to several Premier League teams, especially Newcastle United.

Veiga enjoyed a successful 2022–2023 season with the Spanish team, and he is now drawing interest from all over Europe.

Because of his contract's €40 million (£34.6 million) release clause, he is undoubtedly an extremely sought-after player.

Four Premier League clubs are rumoured to be keen on recruiting the 21-year-old midfielder, who bagged 11 goals in 36 La Liga games last season: Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City.

According to a recent Evening Standard article, Chelsea are considering landing Veiga in place of Mason Mount, who is leaving for Manchester United.

The Ligue 1 winners PSG are working 'fast' to win the race to recruit the Spain Under-21 international, despite strong interest from big English teams.

Santi Aouna, a reporter for Foot Mercato, claims that PSG "have made significant headway" in their pursuit of Veiga, with a medical currently scheduled, demonstrating their confidence.

Considering the involvement of the four Premier League teams mentioned as well as Barcelona and Real Madrid, discussions are currently considered 'advanced.'

Even if it doesn't seem like Celta Vigo and PSG have reached a deal, the French club is optimistic that Veiga's medical will be cleared before the end of the week.

There is a notion that the Parisiens might be capable of beating off other clubs for the services of the young playmaker since future PSG coach Luis Enrique "understands Veiga well."

Newcastle is looking for an exciting offensive midfielder and has previously missed the services of Dominik Szobaszlai and James Madison because they joined Liverpool and Tottenham, respectively.
