Top three goalkeepers with best save success rate in Eredivisie 2022-23
These showstoppers made exceptional saves throughout the season
It was another exciting top-flight season in the Netherlands, as Feyenoord won their first Eredivisie title since 2017. Their goalkeeper played an important role in their league-winning campaign. Goalkeepers are key to a team's success, and a good goalkeeping performance can often coincide with a positive result.
Of course most important in a goalkeeper's game is his shot-stopping, there are more attributes to a goalkeeper's game be it passing, playing from the back, or providing assists. Let's look at the top three goalkeepers with the best save success rate in the 2022-23 season of the Dutch league:
3. Justin Bijlow- 75%
Justin Bijlow has become Feyenoord's first-choice keeper over the past two seasons, standing at 6ft 2in, Bijlow is shorter than expected for a keeper. But he played a crucial role in helping Feyenoord to win the Eredivisie title last season, conceding only 19 goals in 25 games as well as keeping 12 clean sheets.
He first broke into the Feyenoord team in 2017, but it took another four years for him to claim the starting spot. Bijlow managed to keep 15 clean sheets in 34 appearances across all competitions, his contributions last season have been recognized by Manchester United and they have shown interest in the Dutch goalkeeper.
United are looking to acquire two goalkeepers this summer as David de Gea is out of contract and Dean Henderson has been linked with a move away from club. Bijlow could prove to be a quality long-term replacement for Henderson and he could be an understudy to Onana if the Red Devils manage to sign both players.
2. Nick Olij- 78.1%
Nick Olij is a Dutch goalkeeper who appeared in 36 matches this season in Eredivisie for Sparta Rotterdam, playing a total of 3240 minutes. Nick Olij conceded an average of 1 goal for every 90 minutes that he was on the pitch.

1. Lars Unnerstall- 78.2%
Unnerstall was born in Ibbenbüren, North Rhine-Westphalia, he finished his development at FC Schalke 04 after joining at the age of 18. After spending majority of his playing time in Netherlands, he had the best save success rate in the 2022-23 Eredivisie season.
As a FC Twente goalkeeper, Lars Unnerstall conceded 26 goals and kept 18 clean sheets in 37 matches in the Eredivisie 2022-2023 season. When Unnerstall is in goal, his team conceded a goal every 128 minutes. Lars Unnerstall's 90 minutes goals conceded stat is 0.7. He's saved 103 of the 132 shots faced - meaning Lars Unnerstall's save percentage is 78.2%.
The 32-year-old German goalkeeper played all the matches for the Dutch club and helped the club finish fifth in the points table, just three points behind the Europa Conference League qualifiers. The 2022–23 season was the 58th season in the history of FC Twente and their fourth consecutive season in the top flight.
