Delhi Premier League to begin in last week of October

It is going to be the second season of the top-tier league competition in the capital city.
The brand new season of the Delhi Premier League is set to begin on 28 October 2023. Fans cannot wait for the 2023-24 season of the competition to commence which is set to be extremely competitive if the previous season is any indication. The inaugural edition of the top-tier league competition under the Delhi Football League organised by Football Delhi was a huge success and the latest one is set to follow suit.
Vatika FC, also the debutants in the Delhi Premier League last year, won the 2022-23 edition in sensational fashion. The top tier of men’s football in the capital city featured 11 teams in the inaugural season and saw people turn up in huge numbers at the Ambedkar Stadium and the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to witness the action.
The excitement is building ahead of the start of the 2023-24 campaign and fans cannot wait to see their favourite clubs and players in action at the Ambedkar Stadium in Delhi.
A new season
The 2023-24 season of the Delhi Premier League will begin on 28 October 2023. The AIFF CMS (Competition Management System) deadline, for the registration of players, is set to close on 10 October 2023. As per the format of the tournament, it will be a double round-robin format like last season. The maximum number of players in a team is set at 35 and the clubs cannot exceed the squad size.
With the CMS deadline and the commencement of the league only a few weeks away, the clubs participating in the 2023-24 Delhi Premier League are already kickstarting their preparations for the league tournament.
Looking back at the 2022-23 season of the DPL, Vatika FC finished as table toppers with 44 points after winning 14 of their 20 league fixtures. In terms of individual awards, Ajay Singh of Friends United FC won the Player of the Tournament award after scoring 24 goals in 20 league fixtures.
