Durand Cup 2023: Odisha FC vs Rajasthan United – Build-up
The round two matches of the group stage have begun in the 132nd IndianOil Durand Cup as Odisha FC takes on Rajasthan United in the second match on Friday, August 11, 2023.
The Group F match will take place at Kokrajhar’s SAI Stadium and is scheduled at 6:00 P.M. (IST). Mohammedan SC and Indian Navy play the first match of the day.
This is a must-win match for Odisha FC. They lost the opening match against the Indian Army 1-0. Lilton Shil scored the only goal in the match towards the end of the first half. He then received a red card in the 77th minute. Odisha FC were unable to break the deadlock and suffered a loss.
Rajasthan United won their opening fixture against Bodoland FC. William Opoku’s goal early in the second half was enough to seal three points for the club.
Indian Army leads the Group F table and are followed by Rajasthan United. Bodoland FC and the Juggernauts are yet to register any points.
The Juggernauts have a better record in recent games. They average two goals per game in the last five matches. Rajasthan United, on the other hand, have only scored four times in their last five games.
For one team this is a must-win situation and three points for the other team increase their chances of qualification.
