Goa Pro League: Sesa FA thump Young Boys of Tonca
This was the second match of the Goa Pro League.
Sesa Football Academy scored a fluent 4-0 win over newly-promoted Young Boys of Tonca, in the Goa Football Association’s Goa Professional League (Goa Pro League) at Duler stadium, Mapusa.
The game burst into life with lightning speed as Sesa FA wasted no time in making their mark. Just two minutes into the match, a lapse in Young Boys’ defense gifted Sesa FA a golden opportunity. Velrose Dias capitalized on a goalkeeping blunder, effortlessly slotting the ball into the back of the net, handing his team an early advantage.
Following the early strike, the battle shifted to the midfield, with both teams engaging in a fierce tussle for control. As the first half drew to a close, the solitary goal stood as the slender margin separating the two sides, setting the stage for an intense second half.
Sesa FA, showing no signs of complacency, emerged from the break with renewed vigor. In the 49th minute, Chaitan Dabholkar displayed exceptional vision by threading a pinpoint pass to Clencio Pinto, who coolly slotted home to extend Sesa FA’s lead to 2-0.
Not content with a two-goal cushion, Sesa FA continued to press their advantage. At the hour mark, Clencio Pinto returned the favor to Chaitan Dabholkar, delivering an impeccable assist that left the opposition defense scrambling. Chaitan seized the opportunity and placed the ball into the net with precision, stretching Sesa FA’s lead to an imposing 3-0.
The latter stages of the match witnessed yet another pivotal moment. Sidharnath orchestrated a brilliantly-calibrated through ball that found Aman. Aman, showcasing sublime dribbling skills, maneuvered past a defender but was brought down just inside the penalty area, resulting in a clear-cut penalty. Sidharnath assumed the responsibility, displaying nerves of steel as he confidently stepped up to the spot and calmly converted the penalty in the 83rd minute, further solidifying Sesa Football Academy’s dominance with a 4-0 lead.
In the end, Sesa Football Academy’s well-rounded performance, marked by precision in attack and resolute defending, left Young Boys of Tonca with no room to stage a comeback.
