The Saudi club is looking to get none other than Mohamed Salah

The Egyptian King played all 38 possible Premier League games last season. In those outings, Mohamed Salah ended up providing 12 assists and even finding the back of the net a total of 19 times. This got him a fourth-place finish on the top scorer's list for the 2022-23 PL season, and by a goal, he missed the third spot. The third spot with 20 goals went to Brentford's Ivan Toney, who is currently banned from participating in football due to certain breaches.

The Saudi side Al-Ittihad is reportedly firing on all cylinders to bring the Egyptian wizard to play at King Abdullah Sports City wearing their kit. They have already grabbed Fabinho, N'Golo Kante, and Karim Benzema for their roster. And the further addition of Salah will give their squad extra charm. But for Liverpool, it will be a massive hit, given there are just a few days left to do any recruitment in this summer's transfer window.

They would want a possible reinforcement if they were to lose their main man. However, given Salah's age of 31, the Reds might be tempted by the resolute offering of €100 million by the Saudi side. This astronomical sum will be the highest fee for any Anfield player ever.

Al-Ittihad's probable line-up after signing Mohamed Salah

3. RM - Salah, CAM - Coronado, LM - Hamdallah, ST - Benzema

One way Salah could be welcomed into the starting lineup is in a balanced 4-2-3-1 formation. With Fabinho and N'Golo Kante rocking the central midfield, the frontline need not worry much. The double-pivot pair can easily cover the back four and even press further up the field during times when the opposition has the ball.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo could put Salah in his usual habitat. That is playing down the right flank. And given Salah's dangerous left boot, the player can readily make use of cutting inside and having a shot at the goal. On the other flank, Abderrazak Hamdallah could star in to provide a similar threat from the left side of the ground. The Moroccan has already scored four goals in three outings this season. Karim Benzema will play as the number 9, and behind him in the centre attacking midfield role, Igor Coronado will fit in.

2. RM - Romarinho, CF - Salah, CF - Benzema, LM - Coronado

This frontline could be observed in a 4-4-2 formation. Once again, the centre midfielder roles are to be assured by the likes of Fabinho and N'Golo Kante, which would let Benzema and Salah traumatise opposition defences through the centre.

Al Ittihad's manager could likely partner Benzema with Salah and make use of Salah's ability to score goals. After a 30-goal season with Liverpool last season, there's a high chance the Egyptian can replicate those numbers again this year. And with the firepower of Benzema, he can further amp up his assist tally as well. To provide the width, a Brazilian pair like Romarinho and Igor Coronado can come in handy.

1. RW - Salah, ST - Benzema, LW - Hamdallah

In a dynamic 4-3-3 formation, Al Ittihad could flaunt an electrifying attack of Mohamed Salah, Karim Benzema, and Abderrazak Hamdallah. The newest possible sensation, Salah, who usually plays on the right wing under Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool, could once again make use of that spot in the same formation. This will add fresh vigour to the right wing, with his pace and precision serving as a constant threat.

On the left wing, Hamdallah could bring his flair and clinical finishing, further keeping defenders on their toes. Spearheading the attack will be the renowned former Real Madrid striker Benzema, a master of positioning and finishing. This trio promises a breathtaking number of goals, making Al Ittihad a force to be reckoned with on the Saudi Arabian football stage and even in the AFC Champions League.

And to keep things calm in the centre, Fabinho could drop in as the defensive midfielder. While N'Golo Kante could pair with Igor Coronado as the attack-minded midfielder along the inside channels.
