King’s Cup 2023: Format, Fixtures, India’s squad and more

India will play Iraq in the semi final fixture

The 2023 Annual King's Cup Football Tournament, will be the 49th edition of the annual international men's football tournament organised by the Football Association of Thailand.

The tournament will have only four games, which will be played across 4 days, starting from the semi finals, and eventually the finals and the third place playoff.

Iraq is the highest-ranked team in the competition, rated 70th in the world, followed by India, ranked 99th, Lebanon, ranked 100th, and Thailand, ranked 113th. 

The Blue Tigers last played Iraq in a friendly match in Baghdad in 2010, losing 2-0.

Format

Both semi final games will be one off fixtures, where the winners will advance to the finals, and the losers will play in the third place playoff.

The final will also be a one legend fixture, and there won’t be any extra time, and games will be decided by a direct penalty shootout, if the score remains tied at the end of 90 minutes,

Venue

All games of the 2023 King’s Cup will be played at the  700th Anniversary of Chiang Mai Stadium, in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
