Sancho was not included in Manchester United's squad against Arsenal

According to Fabrizio Romano, Jadon Sancho's degree of practice has dissatisfied Erik ten Hag as well as certain of his Manchester United crew. Since two to three weeks ago, there have been conflicts.

Sancho believes there is more, but those closest to him maintain that he is doing his best.

Ten Hag expects him to execute well in order to be chosen since he feels he did his best to assist during a difficult moment last season.

After criticising Erik ten Hag on the internet for keeping him absent from the team that lost 3-1 at Arsenal, Sancho's position at Manchester United could be in jeopardy. He called himself a "scapegoat" in his post.

The player, who had been a substitute in United's first three games, appeared to accuse his boss of fabricating the reasons for his exclusion.

At the Emirates Stadium, Ten Hag selected a bench lacking in offensive wisdom, featuring debutant Rasmus Hjlund, Alejandro Garnacho, and an extremely inexperienced Facundo Pellistri. Ten Hag claimed later that Sancho was benched due to "his performances in training."

On X, formerly Twitter, Sancho stated: “Please don’t believe everything you read! I will not allow people saying things that [are] completely untrue. I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I have been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!

“All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team. I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and [I’m] grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge. I will continue to fight for this badge no matter what!”

Ten Hag denied that Sancho was kept at home for disciplinary reasons in a post-defeat interview and claimed that he had not performed to the appropriate level in previous practice sessions.

“You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices in the front line,” he said. “So for this game he was not selected.”

Sancho left Borussia Dortmund for United in July 2021 for a highly publicised £73 million transfer, but he has found it difficult to find his ideal form and has since lost his starting spot for England.

Erik ten Hag encouraged him to contribute more consistently at the highest level throughout the preseason after granting him three months' absence from first-team duties last winter to address what the Dutchman described as "physical but also mental" concerns.
