Dutch midfielder and Manchester United outcast Donny van de Beek is inching closer to a departure from Old Trafford as Turkish giants Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are topping the list of potential destinations.

Donny van de Beek has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester United and is reportedly no longer a part of manager Erik ten Hag’s plans, despite the duo having previously worked together at Ajax. Since arriving in 202, he has made 60 appearances for the Red Devils, out of which only 23 have been starts.

He is yet to make an appearance for United in the ongoing season and was last seen in Premier League action in January 2021, after which a knee injury ruled him out. United’s transfer window saw them splurge big money to ramp up their midfield.

With the arrival of Mason Mount, and the last-minute move of Sofyan Amrabat, Donny van de Beek currently rests even more down in the pecking order and is unlikely to start anytime soon.

Manchester United did try to offload him in the transfer window, he was linked with a last-minute move to Ligue 1 side FC Lorient, with LaLiga side Real Sociedad showing interest as well. However, both of those moves collapsed. It was reported that the deadline day deal with Lorient collapsed due to the Ligue 1 outfit not appreciating Van De Beek’s attitude.

A move to either Galatasaray or Fenerbahce may materialise in the next few days as the Turkish transfer window is set to close on September 15th.

If the transfer materialises, he will join his former United teammates Eric Baily and Fred, who moved to the Turkish Super Lig earlier in the summer.

Given the short time in which the transfer has to materialise, a permanent move might be off the table, with United likely settling for a loan spell with a buy-in clause at the end.
