The Red Devils have made efforts to sign Adrien Rabiot

A number of rumours, Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot is a target for Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Throughout this past summer, the Red Devils have been frequently mentioned in connection with a move for the Frenchman.

In June, Erik ten Hag apparently made another attempt to sign him, but negotiations broke down just before he agreed to a one-year agreement with Juventus.

Newcastle United, a Premier League foe, are a potential contender for Manchester United as they look to make a move in January.

The Magpies are interested in signing Rabiot in support of their quest to increase their visibility in Europe, claims Italian publication Calciomercato.

Massimiliano Allegri intends to bind him to a fresh agreement, though. Rabiot, 28, earned 181 outings for Juventus after leaving Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in 2019.

The midfielder had a breakout campaign under Allegri, scoring 11 goals and dishing out six assists. Additionally, he feels that his efforts merited a Ballon d'Or nomination.

He told L'Equipe: "I can’t deny that it hurts because I had an important season. "Then, seeing some other names, I think it was not logical. Sometimes two good Champions League games are enough, but those deciding do not consider the entire season."

Ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, spent upwards of £180 million during the summer to bolster his team.

Following the due date, Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount, Andre Onana, Altay Bayindir, and Jonny Evans all agreed to long-term contracts; Sergio Reguilon and Sofyan Amrabat joined on a temporary basis.

With three victories and three losses in their first six games of the season, the Red Devils have had a difficult time.
