Sergio Ramos contemplating move to Sevilla amid Al-Ittihad interest

The Spanish centre-back is available as a free agent

Sergio Ramos didn't provide a definitive, formal response to Al-Ittihad since, according to the Sevilla offer he got today, a brief deal was on the table.

Ramos will soon make his decision known after receiving approaches from Turkey, and dialogues are progressing as a result.

Sergio Ramos was expected to join Al-Ittihad of the Saudi Pro League, which meant he could pair alongside Karim Benzema, an earlier Real Madrid colleague.

Since departing Paris Saint-Germain at the conclusion of the previous campaign, the former Real Madrid leader has remained an unsigned free agent.

In a wonderful 12-year span at the Santiago Bernabeu, Benzema and Ramos combined to win four Champions League championships with Real Madrid.

While Benzema ended his lengthy stay in the Spanish capital during the summertime to finish out his playing days in Saudi Arabia, Ramos left Real in 2021 to join PSG.

Ramos considered a number of alternatives after quitting PSG. The possibility of returning to their old team Sevilla existed, but they decided against it because of Ramos' price requirements and the fact that he is 37 years old.

While Besiktas and Galatasaray were both interested in him, he also thought about heading to MLS to follow the example of his former PSG teammate Lionel Messi.

Before he can finalise the transfer, Ramos' contract's last-minute formalities must be resolved. The current Saudi Pro League champions' new team will thereafter make the Spaniard's formal debut.

As reported by Foot Mercato, Al-Ittihad is eager to bolster its defence before the transfer window ends on September 7 and is prepared to trade for Ramos after losing the opportunity to sign Real Betis player Luiz Felipe.

After his sale from Los Blancos early this summer, Ramos would be teaming up with erstwhile Madrid friend Karim Benzema when making a switch.
