Atletico Madrid are currently blighted by injuries

Thomas Lemar was the most recent player to go down, appearing to suffer a significant Achilles injury during Saturday's loss to Valencia. Diego Simeone has been tearing out his hair over the past few weeks as injuries have continued to plague his Atletico Madrid team.

Among others who have experienced various problems are Koke Resurreccion, Caglar Soyuncu, Rodrigo De Paul, and Memphis Depay.

Thomas Lemar's damaged Achilles tendon in the heel of his right foot has been officially confirmed by Atletico, who had suspected a significant problem. To fix the problem, he will need surgery in the upcoming days; healing will then take priority.

The ex-SM Caen and AS Monaco, however, decided to remain in the Iberian capital. The 2018 world champion had to leave his position in the 43rd minute of this Saturday's Colchoneros match against Valencia due to injuries.

The 27-year-old sustained an Achilles tendon tear, and although his club feared the worst, the news was announced this past Sunday. a devastating setback for the latter and Atlético, who discussed his absence.

“After the examinations carried out on the French player, the report proposed by the club’s medical services indicates that he suffers from a rupture of the right Achilles tendon and that he will have to undergo surgery. Good luck Thom, we wish you a speedy recovery!» He would therefore have to be absent for many months.

Lemar, 27, is expected to miss most of the current campaign; an average recovery time for this kind of injury is six months.

The alternatives available to Atletico coach Diego Simeone are even more constrained before their Champions League campaign, which begins Tuesday at Lazio.
