For Liverpool, Trent Alexander-Arnold is aiming for this weekend's Premier League match against West Ham as his comeback match.

Alexander-Arnold was absent from the Reds' 3-1 victory over Wolves on Saturday at Molineux because he withdrew from the England team during the most recent international break due to a hamstring problem.

This Thursday, Liverpool will play again in Europe after missing out on the Champions League this year. They will play in the Europa League for the very first occasion since 2016.

The will play LASK in their opening group match before getting ready to face the Hammers on Sunday at Anfield.

The Athletic reports that Alexander-Arnold will not play in the midweek encounter since he once again skipped team practise before the game on Wednesday.

He worked out by himself at Kirby that day and won't travel to Austria with the team to play in the game on Thursday night.

Although it's believed that Liverpool are unlikely to take any chances if their vice-captain is not completely ready, they are optimistic that he is going to be adequate to play some part in the game on Sunday.

The full-back has appeared four times for Liverpool this campaign, including the majority of the victories over Bournemouth and Aston Villa as well as the entire 90 minutes in the opening-day draws with Chelsea and Newcastle.

According to rumours, Thiago Alcantara will still miss Liverpool's match on Thursday because he is still dealing with a hip problem.

The Spaniard underwent hip surgery towards the conclusion of last season and has yet to play for the Reds this season, but he decided to stay with the team despite rumours that he would leave during the summer transfer window.

Earlier in the window, he was mentioned as perhaps moving to Turkey, although his agent denied any such rumours.
