Wales announce squad for September International break
Tottenham Hotspur's Brennan Johnson has been called up for Wales
For Wales' forthcoming international trial encounter against the Korea Republic (Thursday, September 7) as well as its UEFA EURO 2024 qualifier with Latvia in Riga (Monday, September 11), Rob Page has named his team of 25 players.
Josh Sheehan gets called up for the first time since 2021, while Tom Lockyer is back on the team following heart surgery. Liam Cullen, Tom King, and Morgan Fox are the only players on the team without a single appearance.
The three players without a cap are Swansea attacker Liam Cullen, QPR defender Morgan Fox, and custodian Tom King of Wolves.
After receiving red cards in June, Kieffer Moore and Joe Morrell were each banned from the Latvia playoff.
Both players were given two-game suspensions; Bournemouth forward Moore served the initial match of his ban in Turkey despite receiving a red card against Armenia. Morrell, a midfielder for Portsmouth, was sent off against Turkey in Samsun and will not play in Croatia's qualifying match in October.
Wales are fourth in Group D of Euro 2024 qualifiers.
