Lyon lost 4-1 at home against PSG before the September international break

As Olympique Lyon considers replacing him, Laurent Blanc may be the first managerial casualty of the 2023–24 campaign, according to L'Equipe.

After last manager Peter Bosz left, Blanc took over as manager in October, and Lyon's fortunes began to alter. Despite finishing seventh, though, Lyon was unable to qualify for European football.

Olympique Lyon, on the other hand, have had a rough start to their most recent domestic campaign as they are currently last in Ligue 1 with three losses from four games and a staggering ten goals allowed.

The most recent of their defeats was a 4-1 thumping by Paris Saint-Germain at home on Sunday, which culminated in the Lyon fans heavily criticising the team at the ground after the full-time whistle.

The French club is currently thinking about recruiting a new boss, although they are not yet in a rush. With sources suggesting they will use the upcoming international break to look at resumes.

The current front-runners are Thiago Motta and Will Still, with Marcelo Gallardo and Bruno Lage, also being taken into consideration.

Laurent Blanc has said he is determined to turn things around despite the strain on his position as we approach the first international break of the season.

The 57-year-old stated, "I am very confrontational - I'm a whinger, a pain, but I'm a warrior. "Recently, many bosses have called to tell me to be.

"I'm not putting pressure on myself, but we've made some decisions, and I'm trying to make sure they work out," the speaker said.

If Blanc manages to remain in charge until after the international break, he will fancy his chances of regaining control at Lyon as they are scheduled to play newly promoted Le Havre on September 17th.
