Ratings: Al Hilal thrash Mumbai City in AFC Champions League tie
(Courtesy : AFC Media)
Vikram Partap Singh was one of the standout players for Mumbai City.
Mumbai City FC succumbed to yet another defeat in the AFC Champions League and this time it was against group favourites Al Hilal. The Islanders put up a good shift in the first 45 minutes, but the second half dominance from Al Hilal left Des Buckingham's side in pieces as they were shattered by a 6-0 loss.
On that note, we take a look at how the Mumbai City players performed in this clash.
Phurba Lachenpa - 5
Phurba appeared helpless as his defence crumbled after Al Hilal scored their second goal. He gave his all but couldn't do anything to prevent it.
Mehtab Singh - 3
Mehtab's positioning for the third goal was abysmal. The defender displayed a lack of proper positioning in all of the goals that Mumbai City FC conceded.
Rostyn Griffiths - 4
The centre back was accountable for conceding a goal as he left Mitrovic completely unmarked.
Tiri - 4.5
The Spaniard had the opportunity to challenge for the ball instead of complaining during Al Hilal's second goal. His positioning for the first goal also appeared to be lacking.
Akash Mishra - 4.5
He lost possession of the ball during Al Hilal's fourth goal build-up, and his positioning on the left flank appeared rather reckless.
Yoëll Van Nieff - 4
The Dutch player had a significant impact in the first half, but the second half turned into a nightmare for him.
Vikram Partap Singh - 6
The forward surged forward several times, attempting to breach the Al Hilal defence with his runs. He was among the most active players for Mumbai City FC against Al Hilal.
Greg Stewart - 5.5
Despite the Islanders losing the match, the midfielder admirably controlled the tempo of the game for his team in the first half. His performance in the second half dipped significantly however.
Apuia - 4
He controlled the match brilliantly in the first half, connecting the Islanders' attack and defence, but the youngster was nowhere to be seen in the second half.
Lallianzuala Chhangte - 4.5
The winger displayed great prowess in unsettling Al Hilal's left-back. He frequently executed those blistering runs on the flanks and even emerged victorious in a couple of duels. Nothing he could do about the goals.
Jorge Pereyra Diaz - 3
The forward appeared lost throughout the match. He struggled to control and hold the ball on numerous occasions and also failed to contribute to the build-up play.
Substitutes
El Khayati - 4
El Khayati was brought on in the 62nd minute, but the Dutchman couldn't make much of a contribution for his team. Instead, he found himself more of as a spectator, watching his team's struggles.
Bipin Singh - 4
Replaced Vikram Partap Singh, but had no significant impact on the game.
Jayesh Rane - N/A
Rahul Bheke - N/A
