AIFF President Kalyan Chaubey confirms Arsene Wenger's India visit
Conformation has come from FIFA President Gianni Infantino’s office
Kalyan Chaubey, AIFF's current President, has received confirmation from Gianni Infantino’s(FIFA’s President) office, that Arsene Wenger, the former Arsenal manager and currently serving as FIFA's Chief of Global Football Development, will be visiting India as expected from the 19th of November to the 23rd of November.
The AIFF President posted a picture of himself and Gianni Infantino on X (formerly known as Twitter) and revealed the message. The visit of Arsene Wenger is to finalise the establishment of a central academy in the country. This academy, designed for U-13 boys and girls, will be a collaborative effort between FIFA and AIFF.
The AIFF President also expressed his intention to bring together ISL, I-League club owners, and football NGOs for a special session to be hosted by Indian Football. Such gatherings have the potential to generate meaningful discussions and strategies that could positively impact the development of football in India. The President's proactive approach indicates a commitment to enhancing the sport's growth and structure.
Only time will reveal the extent to which this special session can contribute to the improvement of Indian Football. The outcomes and decisions made during this meeting could potentially influence the future direction of the sport in the country.
It is also rumoured that Pierluigi Collina, FIFA Head of Refereeing, is also expected to join Arsene Wenger for his visit in India. Requested by Kalyan Chaubey to Gianni Infantino, the primary focus of Collina’s visit is to train Indian referees and to make them more competitive.
