The new football club from Varanasi, Inter Kashi are going to make their I-League debut on October 28, 2023 when they face Gokulam Kerala FC at the EMS Stadium, Kozhikode, Kerala.

After a series of successful pre-season matches, the team appears self-assured as they prepare to step onto the grand stage. This was made evident by the remarks made during the pre-match press conference which was attended by head coach Carlos Santamarina and captain Arindam Bhattacharya.

“I believe the preparation has been commendable. We have dedicated the past two months to diligently working towards our goals. Based on our efforts, I am confident that we are well-prepared for the upcoming endeavors,” stated by Carlos Santamarina.

On the opponent

Inter Kashi are set to face Gokulam Kerala, undoubtedly one of the most formidable teams in the league, in their inaugural match. When asked about the opposition, Carlos said, “It is an esteemed club with a rich historical background in India. Engaging in this game presents an exhilarating challenge, and I am genuinely enthusiastic about it. I am aware that this team holds a prominent position in the league as one of the strongest adversaries.”

“Undoubtedly, it will be a formidable encounter for us. Taking into consideration their proficient coach and formidable squad, we remain prepared for this contest”, he added.

Inter Kashi FC’s squad

Inter Kashi boast a skilled and dependable roster comprising both Indian and international players. The team will certainly benefit from the valuable experience of certain individuals who have previously competed in the ISL and the I-League. Such prior exposure undoubtedly serves as a notable advantage for the team.

“I am genuinely pleased with the squad. The journey hasn't been easy, considering that we started three months ago. However, the team and the club have done an exceptional job. We possess a roster of highly skilled players, striking a good balance between experienced individuals and promising young talents. As we progress, our focus will be on taking each game as it comes,” Carlos Santamarina mentioned.

Arindam Bhattacharya's comments

Inter Kashi have an experienced head coach who has been on Indian soil for the last four years.

“We are fortunate to have a highly competent coaching staff and a coach who has experience in India, which greatly facilitates our work as footballers. Our coach possesses a crystal-clear vision of our roles and responsibilities, providing us with a clear understanding of what is expected on the pitch,” replied Arindam Bhattacharya when asked about the coaching duties of the club.

“It is now our responsibility to execute these instructions effectively during our matches”, he added.
