India set to drop four places in FIFA Rankings after Merdeka Cup loss

India's current FIFA Ranking is 101.
The Indian Football Team are set to slid further down the FIFA World Rankings after their unfortunate loss to Malaysia in the Merdeka Cup. This defeat has worsened the Indian team's FIFA rankings, as the Blue Tigers will drop four positions and be positioned at 105th place when the next FIFA rankings are announced.
In the most recent FIFA Rankings update released by FIFA in June, India achieved the 99th position after delivering an outstanding performance in both the Intercontinental Cup and the ongoing SAFF Championship. Throughout the month of June, India's performance and results helped them accumulate 4.24 ranking points, which propelled them into the top 100 teams globally.
India's ascent in the rankings also led to an enhancement of their continental standing, as the team secured the 18th position in Asia. Nevertheless, their loss to Lebanon in the King's Cup had significant repercussions. Lebanon climbed to the 101st position, while India dropped to the 102nd place from their previous 99th spot.
With the live FIFA rankings constantly changing, India was positioned at the 101th position before the commencement of the Merdeka Cup. But, Igor Stimac’s Men in Blue left a terrible mark in the foreign tournament as the team crashed out after a 4-2 loss against hosts Malaysia.
This defeat has raised questions about Stimac's squad selection, as well as stirred controversies surrounding the refereeing decisions.
