Bayern Munich to hold contract extension talks with Leroy Sane
Leroy Sane has drawn interest from many European sides
Bayern Munich football director Freund has shed light on Leroy Sane's current situation at the club and claimed they are set to hold talks with the forward in the coming weeks.
Bayern director Freund: "We will certainly hold talks in the next few weeks to extend Leroy Sane's contract". "He's an exceptionally good player, a key player – and it would be nice if he stayed in Munich for a long time. He's excellent".
Newcastle United are among the club have expressed interest but might be forced to wait until the conclusion of the season to make their move because Bayern Munich are not likely to permit such a crucial player to leave in the middle of the campaign.
Liverpool are said to be interested in Sane as well. According to rumours, Jurgen Klopp considers him a possible replacement for Mo Salah, who might decide to move to Saudi Arabia next year.
In light of this, the former Manchester City player may make a comeback to the Premier League.
A seasoned winner, Sane assisted his former team in winning eight major trophies, notably two Premier League crowns, while playing for Man City. For the Cityzens, he made 135 appearances while contributing 46 assists and 39 goals.
For £54.8 million, the German international moved to Bayern Munich in 2020. Since then, he has played 143 times for the German powerhouses, scoring 44 goals and dishing out 37 assists.
With the German powerhouses, Sane has already garnered seven significant victories, including three Bundesliga trophies.
