Chelsea scouting goalkeepers Unai Simon & Giorgi Mamardashvili

After acquiring both Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic in the summer, the Blues are still searching for a new custodian, reported in September. Mamardashvili is their top permanent aim.

With Kepa Arrizabalaga’s 2018 transfer to Chelsea, Simon, 26, took over as Athletic’s starting custodian for Spain.
Chelsea are happy with Sanchez as their starting custodian and does not currently have any plans to sign a new stopper. However, although a January transfer for a new stopper is improbable, insiders have told 90min that it is also not officially ruled out.

In their quest for a long-term custodian, Chelsea are casting a broad net. Officials were additionally back in the represents to observe Porto’s Diogo Costa play against Barcelona earlier this month.
