Premier League Matchday 10 is set to be underway

The Blues couldn't hold on for victory last time out as Arsenal came from two goals down to draw 2-2 but signs of progress were evident for Mauricio Pochettino, who has overseen a four-game unbeaten run in all competitions after a poor start to the campaign. The Blues have won just two of their last 15 Premier League fixtures at Stamford Bridge, winning just one of their opening five home games so far this season, while they have only won two of their last 12 top-flight London derbies.

Thomas Frank's Bees managed their first victory since August when they comfortably overcame Burnley 3-0. Victory over Burnley has certainly eased any fears of a possible dogfight near the foot of the table while securing back-to-back wins for the first time this season on Saturday would see Brentford climb above Chelsea into the top half. It will be a difficult match for both the teams but for fans, it will be a mouthwatering clash.

Kick-Off:

Saturday, 28 Oct, 2023, 05:00 PM (IST), 11:30 AM (GMT), 07:30 AM (EST)

Form

Chelsea Form (All Competitions): D-L-W-W-W-D

Brentford Form (All Competitions): L-L-L-D-L-W

Players to Watch

Cole Palmer (Chelsea)

Palmer has a knack for executing well-timed passes that penetrate opposition defences, creating a lethal combination when paired with his weight of pass. He has shown semblances of ‘La Pausa’, momentarily slowing down in possession to draw opposition and find the opportune moment to release the killer pass. The young talent has also displayed the ruthless goalscoring nature of arriving in and around the box. Although he might not have an electric pace, Palmer does possess superb nimbleness. This is a clear strong point of all his physical attributes and is crucial to his play in the final third.

Bryan Mbuemo (Brentford)

Despite his stocky frame, Mbeumo possesses great agility with the ball at his feet, able to wriggle away from challenges before darting into space, he allows Brentford to be mobile both in and out of possession. A staple of their pressing game.

Fast and direct with the ball at his feet, it’s his incisiveness that brings impetus to Brentford’s attack. Mbeumo’s ability to drop deep to come and collect the ball before driving his team up the pitch is crucial. With plenty of runners off the ball, Mbeumo is then able to pick out a pass before making a late dart into the area. Mbeumo is not the type of player to stand and admire his pass, he is constantly on the move, and this allows Brentford to be so dangerous on the counter.
