Dortmund show interest in Bayern transfer target Trevoh Chalobah

Trevoh Chalobah is currently out injured

According to Bild, Borussia Dortmund are the Bundesliga team that is interested in signing Chelsea defender Trevor Chalobah, following Bayern Munich.

Dortmund thinks Chalobah can provide them with additional alternatives in central defence. After missing to recruit Armel Bella-Kotchap on loan in the summer, Sebastian Kehl and Edin Terzic are keen to add the 24-year-old onto the team in the winter.

In addition to his adaptability, Chalobah can play as a defensive midfielder or as a right-back, an area in which Dortmund is deficient in talent.

With a contract with Chelsea through 2028, the plan is to bring Chalobah to the team on loan with a buyout option in the summer. It's said that Chelsea wants to get about €30 million for the defender if they decide to sell.

Bayern had expressed interest in Chalobah throughout the summer as they pursued an alternative for Benjamin Pavard, but it is unclear if the team will make an attempt to bring Chalobah to Bavaria come wintertime.

After selling Trevoh Chalobah, Chelsea is going to acquire a new centre defender. That's what Fabrizio Romano says.

The Italian journalist stated in his most recent Substack article that Chelsea will sign a centre-back in 2024 after selling Trevoh Chalobah, and that "discussions are ongoing" over the 24-year-old's replacement.

Chalobah is currently sidelined with an injury, but he hasn't played a game for Chelsea this season. The Evening Standard claims that during the most recent transfer window, the Blues rated their centre-half at £50 million.
