Federico Valverde admits his dream to become Real Madrid captain

Nacho Fernandez is Madrid's main captain for this season

Federico Valverde has stated his wish to one day captain Real Madrid, and he claims that working with players like Toni Kroos and Luka Modric is assisting him.

Since his transfer from Uruguayan team Penarol in 2018, the 25-year-old has blossomed at the Santiago Bernabeu. He has participated in 213 games in various competitions, contributing 15 assists and 19 goals.

The UEFA Champions League, two La Liga championships, the Copa del Rey, two Spanish Super Cups, and the UEFA Super Cup have all been won by Valverde. The international from Uruguay has achieved success that most people only dream of.

The Real Madrid midfielder, though, also has another goal in thought: he hopes to someday lead Los Blancos as their captain. According to transfer authority Fabrizio Romano, he said:

After Jude Bellingham was signed in the summer, there were several rumours regarding Valverde's future. The midfield quality in Carlo Ancelotti's team is abundant and includes Valverde, Kroos, Modric, Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga, and Aurelien Tchouameni.

“It’s my dream to be Real Madrid captain one day. That would be insane feeling for me, as it was with Uruguay”.

"Premier League offers? I have the ability to play for Real. The day I don't feel like that, I'm probably going to look for another solution or Real itself will look for one for me."

It is evident that Valverde envisions a future with Los Blancos and aspires to one day hold the position of captain. His outstanding performances for Ancelotti's team are helping him no end in his pursuit of those goals.
