The former United player is currently a free agent

Jesse Lingard's move is in turmoil as Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq have decided not to sign him after giving him a tryout.

Although Jesse Lingard has been practising with the Saudi team, they are reluctant to finalise his deal because of the forward's high financial demands

To make room for the former England international in their roster, two of the club's non-Saudi players were expected to be freed by January, which is a doubtful scenario given the player's monetary requests, which are more than what the club is willing to grant.

The former Manchester United midfielder had been practising with West Ham last month, according to manager David Moyes, who also expressed optimism about the 30-year-old's chances of receiving a short-term deal from the team.

Lingard, however, terminated his stay by using the club's resources in East London to start working out for the Saudi Pro League team in preparation for a transfer. That currently seems impossible given their player quota and the players' requirements.

Steven Gerrard is the manager of Al-Ettifaq, who has spent a lot of money this year on players like Jordan Henderson, Moussa Dembele, Georginio Wijnaldum, and Demarai Grey, among others. Any of those guys would probably not be permitted to relocate at this point.

Earlier this month, Lingard participated in a club friendly and scored after just four minutes of play. According to domestic regulations, Saudi Pro League clubs are only allowed to have an aggregate of eight foreign players in their matchday roster; nevertheless, they now have 10 players, not counting Lingard.
