Lionel Messi led the list of most goal contributions for many years in Europe

Football is the most popular sport in the world. Essentially it can be considered as the “world sport “. There are more than 180 countries officially registered with FIFA. However, the top five leagues are on a different level and are above other leagues. There have been plenty of standouts across Europe, with talent abound at traditional powers and plucky upstarts.

Some players have also impacted the season as of now like no other. Mesmerising the entire footballing world with their incredible performances and abilities. Today, we’ve compiled a list of the top five players, with the most goal contributions so far this season in Europe’s top five leagues.

5. Kylian Mbappe - 26

It is not at all surprising to see the French star on this list as he continues to perform consistently for his club. A versatile forward, Mbappé often plays as a winger, and is capable of playing on either flank, due to his ability with both feet. A highly skilful player, Kylian Mbappe is known for his dribbling ability, as well as his explosive acceleration, agility, quick feet, first touch, link-up play and creativity when in possession of the ball, as demonstrated by his use of elaborate feints, such as stepovers, or sudden changes of pace or direction to beat opponents in one-on-one situations.

Last season his performance was not consistent and was criticised by fans and pundits but right now he is proving his critics wrong as he has 27 direct goal contributions and impressing everyone with his performance. Due to his leadership, tenacity, and mentality on the pitch, he has been nicknamed El Toro.

2. Erling Haaland - 29

Last season he was the best striker in the whole Premier League broke some amazing records and also won the FIFA best player of the year award. A prolific goalscorer and widely regarded as one of the best players in the world, Erling Haaland has all the attributes of a complete centre-forward. He has the pace and clever movement to run in behind, he can dribble and create, and he can finish with both feet and his head. Till now he has had 29 goal contributions this year and will try his best to break more records with his performance.

England and Tottenham Hotspur legend and now Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has been in fine form this year, as of now he has had 30 direct goal contributions.  From warming the bench at Leicester City on cold nights in the Championship, Kane’s ascent to stardom matched and accelerated Spurs’ march into the elite of English football.

The England international got the job done for Spurs in several different ways this season. He has developed an extensive repertoire of finishes which make him an extremely complex matchup for any defence. He has been performing very well this season for the Bavarian club scoring eight goals and providing three assists for his new club. His quality is seared into the collective memory of the game and he will go down as one of the greatest strikers to ever grace the Premier League.
